JP Air Tech’s S-Series multilayer filter media, JX80 and JX101, have achieved F1/K1 classification according to DIN 53438 Part 2 and Part 3.
The classification adds a documented fire performance parameter to JP Air Tech’s multilayer product platform and strengthens the use of S-Series media in HVAC and general ventilation applications where flame-retardant behaviour is part of the specification.
In HVAC filtration, media selection is based on several performance requirements. Filtration efficiency, pressure drop, dust holding capacity and service life all influence the final filter design and its performance in use. For some applications, documented fire performance is also an important part of the qualification process.
With the F1/K1 classification, filter manufacturers now have an additional documented parameter when selecting JP Air Tech multilayer media for demanding ventilation applications. This supports a more complete specification process and gives customers a clearer basis for comparing and qualifying filter media where both air performance and flame-retardant behaviour matter.
The S-Series multilayer media are designed to combine efficient filtration with low airflow resistance and high dust holding capacity. The multilayer construction allows the media to support stable performance across the filter’s lifetime, while the newly achieved classification adds further value for applications with specific fire performance requirements.
