Two development tracks
Innovation at JP Air Tech takes place through two complementary development approaches:
internal product development and customer co-development.
Internal product development
Internal development follows our technology roadmap and focuses on expanding our filter media portfolio into new air filtration applications.
Through material design, process optimisation and performance testing, we develop media engineered for demanding operating conditions and changing regulatory requirements. This includes monitoring developments in environmental regulation and emission standards in European and international markets.
Customer co-development
Many developments originate from close collaboration with filter manufacturers and OEM partners.
In co-development projects, application requirements are translated into practical media concepts and testable prototypes.
Key parameters typically include filtration efficiency, air permeability, pressure drop (ΔP), dust holding capacity, pleatability and surface functionalities such as hydrophobicity, flame retardancy or electrical conductivity.
01
Development typically begins with laboratory samples
02
Followed by prototype roll samples for filter manufacturing and extended testing
03
Depending on the application, projects may also include field validation under real operating conditions

Development supported by in-house capabilities
Research and development activities are supported by JP Air Tech’s in-house manufacturing, converting, treatment and testing capabilities.
These facilities allow rapid prototyping and performance evaluation under controlled conditions. In some cases, dedicated test methods are developed to simulate challenging environments such as high humidity or water exposure while monitoring pressure drop and filtration behaviour.
This integrated setup helps accelerate development and ensures that new media solutions can be scaled reliably into production.
Compliance and industry standards
Regulatory requirements and industry standards are integrated into both development and production processes.
For each project, target markets and regulatory requirements are defined early. Testing and documentation are then aligned with relevant filtration standards and customer qualification processes.
Material declarations, supplier documentation and independent testing are used where required to confirm compliance with applicable EU and international regulations.
Innovation through collaboration
Innovation rarely happens in isolation. Many JP Air Tech developments are created through collaboration between engineers, production specialists, customers and partners.
By combining filtration expertise with application insight and strong in-house capabilities, we continue to develop filter media solutions designed for future air filtration challenges.
